Ongoing Charity Projects at AWU
We collect hats for local chemotherapy patients.
They can be any size, color, or pattern, but must be made with yarn that has no acrylic or wool. We recommend cotton, bamboo, and silk blends.
Bamboo Pop is our shop favorite for chemo hats.
We often have free skeins available for chemo hat projects. Just ask the next time you come in.
We also collect accessories and garments of all kinds for Clothes for Kids. These can be made in any washable fiber. Items in masculine colors and larger sizes are especially appreciated as they are not donated as often. Teens also receive gifts from Clothes for Kids - not just younger children.
